Intelligent battery integrated into the down tube
Shimano's high-performance, lithium-ion batteries have an intelligent battery-management system that provides the maximum possible range. The battery is nicely integrated into the down tube, which improves road holding. Its compact size makes it easy to slide it in and out of the e-bike. You can choose the battery capacity that suits you: 504 Wh or 630 Wh. The battery is reliably secured with a lock on your frame and is easily removed using your bike key. Convenient, as you can charge the battery either on or off the bike.
Smooth up-hill performance with Shimano's powerful motor
The Shimano EP600 motor is the new standard for e-bike motors and performs perfectly in corners and on inclines. With a torque of 85 Nm, you can easily ride both on flat terrain and uphill. In addition, at just 2.9 kilos, this motor is also very lightweight.

Belt drive: quiet and low maintenance
A big plus of the Chamonix C5 is the Gates belt drive. In fact, a belt drive has several advantages over the classic chain drive. To begin with, a belt drive is very quiet and requires little maintenance. Unlike a chain, you don't have to lubricate it and it lasts three to five times longer.
Long-lasting gear shifting pleasure
The Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub is designed to withstand the larger forces exerted on the drive in an e-bike. The interior components are stronger and more durable, and the steps between the five gears are all of equal size (unlike comparable hubs). Therefore, the gear shifting itself also generates less resistance.
Powerful assistance
The Shimano mid-drive motor provides powerful assistance on any terrain. Its 85-Nm output helps you quickly get up the mountain or accelerate rapidly at traffic lights. With your choice of a 504-Wh or 630-Wh battery, you can go on long journeys.
Your handlebars can be adjusted in seconds
The Chamonix C5 features the Gazelle Switch handlebar stem, so you can adjust your handlebars to the perfect height in an instant. Therefore, you can cycle in any riding position you want. In addition, the braking, shifting and lighting cables are neatly tucked away inside the frame. That means well-protected cables and a sleeker look.
